Williams police say a 77-year-old man, identified as Kenneth Lausten of Williams, died after a vehicle struck him at Seventh and E on Oct. 31. Officers responded at 7:12 p.m. He died at Rideout Hospital in Marysville. Police said the driver remained and cooperated. Investigation continues.
The Colusa City Council approved a new contract for City Manager Jesse Cain, extending his service through Dec. 30, 2028, keeping his base salary, adding a $10,000 annual stipend, and outlining six months’ severance without cause.

California voters approved Prop. 50, clearing new congressional maps. Statewide: 64.1% yes, 35.9% no. Colusa County opposed it, 63.94% no, 36.06% yes. Lawsuits are expected; new districts take effect pending certification and court action.

Colusa County 4-H held its Countywide Craft Expo on Saturday at Festival Hall, offering make-and-take projects from 50 cents to 10 dollars. Families rotated through cookie decorating, ornaments, rock painting, paint brush Santas, candy cane reindeer, and more, with a snack bar open all day.

Colusa County Arts Council hosts its first O Christmas Tree silent auction Dec. 5, 6–8 p.m., at the CCAC Gallery. Decorated trees and wreaths in four themes will be auctioned to support local art programs, murals, camps and public art projects across Colusa County.

Colusa’s second Ruck for Vets on Nov. 8 drew 58 walkers and raised a little over $3,700 for VFW Post 2441. The 22 mile optional weight ruck started at Veterans Memorial Park, with seven participants joining from El Dorado. Organizers aim to grow the event next year.
