Grimes firefighters to host New Year’s Day breakfast
Grimes, CA - Firefighters and volunteers from the Grand Island Fire Department will host their annual New Year’s Day breakfast on Jan. 1 at the Grand Island Station in Grimes.
The community tradition has become a popular way to welcome the new year while supporting the department’s outreach and fundraising efforts.
Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and traditionally includes pancakes, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, bacon, sausage links and patties, eggs, fruit salad, and a breakfast burrito station. Coffee and assorted juices will also be available.
There is no cost to attend, though donations are encouraged. Proceeds from the event support local scholarships and community projects. In past years, funds raised have helped provide computers for Grand Island Elementary School students, playground equipment for after-school programs, support for the Grimes Library, and sponsorships for local FFA students participating in competitions and events.
The breakfast will be held at the Sacramento River Fire District’s Grand Island Station, located at 359 Main St. in Grimes.
