Upcoming food distributions in Colusa County as SNAP delays hit
With November CalFresh (SNAP) benefits temporarily halted during the federal shutdown, local food providers are stepping up to keep families fed. Colusa County Health and Human Services (DHHS) says more than 2,700 residents are affected. The state has sent emergency support to food banks, and DHHS will screen households for immediate help this month.
“If you need food, please reach out,” said Elizabeth Kelly, director of Colusa County Health and Human Services. “Our team will connect you to available resources and distributions.”
Below are November food distribution options. Bring a photo ID if you have one. If you are picking up for a family member or neighbor, bring a note from them if possible.

The federal shutdown has delayed the November CalFresh benefits, but DHHS urges residents to keep applying. Applications will still be processed, and benefits will load once funding resumes. The state has sent emergency support to food banks, including added help for the Colusa County Commodities distribution. DHHS can also screen households for emergency food and connect you with local distributions and other immediate options.
